Schools can opt to support Compassion Fund by choosing Share-A-Meal (SAM) as their VIA project. Students involved would need to promote SAM in their school, as well as manage collections on the event day.
Through planning the programme, students learn the values of empathy, giving and compassion, which are key factors in building a more caring community.
The learning experiences would support the development of students as socially responsible citizens, who make a meaningful contribution to the community through the learning and application of values, knowledge and skills.
VIA fosters autonomy of students over how they contribute to the society. As part of VIA, students are involved in the process of reflecting on their past, the principles they put into action and how they can continue to make positive contributions.
